Summary The six Communication Papers available in this publication summarize analyses of public perception and media coverage of “the other”, be it a Muslim, an Arab, a refugee or any other representative of other than the majority culture, in six European countries: Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. The Papers draw conclusions and provide recommendations of how to communicate more effectively and tailor-make the message to address those segments in the society who are afraid or hateful of “the other”, to engage them in a constructive dialogue and contribute to better quality public and media debate about pressing issues.
