Cooperation agreement with the United Kingdom to combat modern slavery

The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Lithuania signed a declaration on cooperation in combating trafficking in human beings and in modern slavery. An agreement was signed on the 18th of October – European Anti-Trafficking Day.

In order to halt the manifestations of modern slavery, by signing a cooperation declaration, the parties agree to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation in the fight against trafficking in human beings.

It is reported that the United Kingdom remains one of the main destination countries of forced labour, forced marriage and other forms of exploitation.
