The Migration Department reports key indicators of migration overview in Lithuania on a semi-annual basis.
The indicators of migration of the II’nd half of 2019 show that the share of the foreign nationals residing in Lithuania has increased 23% comparing with the II’nd half of 2018. On the 1st of January 2020 foreigners have constituted 2.79% of all Lithuanian residents.
During the II’nd half of 2019 the number of applications to issue/ extend residence permits continued to grow, as did the number of foreigners who were not allowed to enter the country.
From 406 asylum applications, 28 foreigners were granted refugee status, 8 – subsidiary protection and 150 applications were rejected and the asylum was not granted.
