EASO report on the border procedures for asylum applications in the EU+ states

European Asylum Support Office (EASO) issued a report outlining the border procedures for asylum applications in the EU+ states.

The “border procedures” include the system of registering and analyzing asylum applications that are lodged at the state’s border point (for instance, at the airport or at the land crossing point).

The results of the study reveal that European Union Member States do not apply uniform border procedures, recommended by the Asylum Procedures Directive (APD). These trends produce difficulties when national procedures valid in different EU countries are being compared.
