Additional measures against the pandemic to take effect from September 13

The Government announced that beginning September 13, Lithuania would terminate the transition period and previously scheduled measures against the pandemic would take effect in full.

Along with several exceptions, it had been set that:

  • provision of services that require to engage into contact
  • various economic activities
  • events

would now be only accessible to people with Opportunity Passports.

IMPORTANT: along with Opportunity passports, residents can also present other documents provided they prove:

  • vaccination
  • recovery from Covid-19
  • negative result of recent PCR or rapid antigen test
  • positive result of antibody test

RETAIL

Without Opportunity Passport

It is forbidden to visit non-essential stores.

It is forbidden to visit shops whose main activity is selling food, veterinary, animal feed, pharmacy, optical goods, technical orthopedic appliances, plants, seeds, fertilizers – provided their sales area exceeds 1,500 square meters.

It is allowed to shop in funeral item stores.

HEALTH CARE SERVICES

Without Opportunity Passport

It is allowed to receive emergency care and family medicine services without testing (unless symptoms of coronavirus occur).

It is allowed to receive inpatient care if a person has recovered from Covid-19, have been vaccinated against Covid-19, or 48 to 72 hours ago received negative Covid-19 test result.

It is allowed to receive personal health care services if they are provided in accordance with the requirements established by the Minister of Health.

It is allowed to receive psychological and psychotherapy services.

It is allowed to receive scheduled outpatient services if they are provided in a safe environment.

For the purpose of health care services, coronavirus testing is free of charge.

It is forbidden to receive the services of beauty specialists.

It is forbidden to visit gyms.

It is forbidden to order minor repair services provided that the service recipient and the provider engage in contact that lasts longer than 15 minutes.

It is allowed to receive funeral services.

It is allowed to receive veterinary services.

It is allowed to use all kinds of public transport.

CULTURE

Without Opportunity Passport

It is allowed to receive library services related to picking up or returning books.

It is allowed to visit museum expositions and exhibitions.

EVENTS

It is forbidden to participate in indoor events.

It is forbidden to participate in outdoor events of culture, entertainment, and sport, as well as in parties, fairs, and festivals – when the number of participants exceeds 500 people.

EDUCATION

Without Opportunity Passport

Students of higher education institutions and persons studying according to vocational training programs are allowed to participate in contact activities on a temporary basis (until October 15, 2021) if they periodically (every 7-10 days) take coronavirus test.

Contact pre-school, pre-school, primary, basic, secondary education, initial vocational training, non-formal education of children and educational assistance are allowed, provided that a safe environment is ensured.
