Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office | Report on temporary foreigners’ accommodation

Lithuania’s Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office issued a report on securing human rights and freedoms in the premises for temporary foreigners’ accommodation.

Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte has been encouraged to draw her attention to various violations reported in the document and take measures to make sure that reception of foreigners meet the requirements of both securing Lithuanian borders, and, equally, European and international law, specifically – commitments to the European Convention on Human Rights and UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees (1951).
